12-03-10: On Friday the 19th of March 4 teams of Durham City Archery Club members will begin a 24-hour continuous archery competition to raise money for Sport Relief. Competing in at least 4 different indoor rounds using a range of bows, the teams will compete against each other for bragging rights for the year as well as raising cash for a well deserved charity SportRelief.
On Saturday from 3.00pm until 5.00 pm the doors of Framwellgate Moor School Gym will be open for members of the public to have a go at archery, and Durham City Archery club members will be on hand to offer guidance. In return for 50p anyone between the age of 8 and 80 can shoot three arrows at a target, using top class equipment. Also please feel free to come along to cajole, heckle and laugh at the teams who will also be sporting some natty sports related fancy dress.

11-01-10: The first beginners' course of 2010 is currently ongoing. While there will be no shooting for members until lesson 4 (3rd Feb.), members would be very welcome to come along and help out with carpets, targets and equipment as well as, perhaps, for a few refreshments... If any members are interested in taking part in coaching, email Mike Rutherford via the club email for details.
11-01-10: There have been a few alterations to the indoor calendar, particular in the run-up to the season's end. The up-to-date fixtures are on the Calendar Page.
06-01-10: *Tonight's Beginners' Session has been Postponed* Heavy snow is forecast for this area from this afternoon well into the night and we feel it would be irresponsible to expect beginners and coaches alike to risk driving in such conditions; some living inland are already snowed-in. Previous information and schedules for the beginners course now simply move back by one week, so lesson 1 will be on 13th Jan. and Wednesday shooting for members will resume on 3rd February. In the meantime, stay safe and warm and we'll hopefully be back to normal soon!
02-01-10: Best wishes to everyone, both archers and those yet to try it, for this new year; may 2010 be good to you in every way possible.
